The Square Mile program sits between a nonprofit and its for-profit partners. Here's who leads each side, and what keeps that relationship in the community's interest.

Jeffrey A. Williamson, Sr. is a Founder and Board Member of Bridgewell Urban Group, the nonprofit that runs the Square Mile program, and also leads Alliance Capital Reserve and Atlas Digital Grid, the for-profit partners that fund and supply it. Because the same person holds leadership roles on both sides, Bridgewell's board is putting the following safeguards in place to keep decisions in the community's interest.
Pending board adoption — not yet in effect
- Board members recuse themselves from any vote where they have a financial interest.
- A majority of the board is independent, with no financial ties to the program's for-profit partners.
- Every board member reviews and signs a written conflict-of-interest policy each year.
These safeguards are the policy Bridgewell's board is adopting. They are not yet formally in effect.
